September-October, 2019: I started just having stomach aches that turned into stomach issues and attacks, and I end up going into the ER because I was in such misery and they found I had a tumor and they found out it was Burkitt’s lymphoma. Then COVID struck, and because my immune system was compromised due to the chemo, my oncologist said, “No way do I want you out there.”

I had to dig out my policy and found out what I had to do for the claim process. Filled out that paperwork. That's when Lynne got in touch with me, there were just some details to work out in a very stressful period, and she was very helpful with that, which meant a lot. Because of the disability policy, I was able to be off work and have nothing else to focus on but taking care of myself.

I could have come out of this experience broke, and because I had great health insurance, because I have a great employer and because I had these financial tools like this disability policy, I came out of it and stepped right back into where I was. And I was not hurt financially.
