Preparing for Every Parent’s Nightmare Includes Buying Life Insurance

Lisa Hanson, Vice President of Illinois Mutual, was recently interviewed by 25News* in Peoria, IL, regarding the importance of considering insurance options for children.

It’s a tough conversation no parent wants to consider. How to prepare for your child’s death? Hanson says most people don’t consider life insurance plans until their 30s.

She recommends it for children as soon as 15 days old. Traditionally, kids are healthiest when they’re younger, which keeps the price down, but parents can also build plans for them as they age.

“There are two different plans for kids and families. One is term insurance, which is like renting insurance. You have it during the time you’re paying for it. The other is a whole life product, which has additional benefits to it,” said Hanson.
